I've been reading this thread with the same sort of horrified fascination as a person watching a train wreck. It’s come to the point where I can't stand back anymore and continue to let a good friend of mine be vilified without speaking up.

Yes, I am a friend of Kurt Lockwood’s. I know the popular belief on this board is that he doesn’t have any friends, and I do hate to disappoint, but there it is. Every person’s interaction with others is unique to the dynamics of the relationship, and my contact with Kurt has been positive. Money and fame do not enter into the equation. If others haven’t had the same experience, that still doesn’t affect my relationship with him. How many marriages has one or the other spouse hating the best friends of their partner? I am proud to call Kurt friend and it has been difficult to me to see these boards light up with the vitriol towards him I’ve read over the past few days.

I know that nothing I say will change anyone’s opinion of Kurt. I don’t expect to. I simply wanted to go on record with a dissenting viewpoint from the loathing on this board.
