Apparently the answer is "clan". I would have guessed "tribe", but maybe that's why I studied chemistry and not English.



Clans are typically in small numbers as tribes are groups of families.



Perhaps clan is correct, since a group of families might require fathers to be present. Such is a rare event amongst our inner-city friends. I'm so glad I gave you a five star rating a while back.
