I realize this might be a touchy subject because everyone has their own secret motivational techniques, but does anyone want to share what they've tried to get a little extra out of the kids on game-days?
It hasn't been easy, but with the cooperation of our parents we now have our entire roster on "anti-inflammatory" drug therapy. It was difficult but most parents realize the importance of placing their sons in a position to compete.
We noticed (and enjoyed) the boost of muscle mass and agression but that has predictably faded. I assume that's because our opponents came "on-line".
Lately we have been mixing red bull with powerade but I am encouraged by the new coke product coming out. Has anyone tried mixing powdered Vivarin in the water keg? I use it regularly but find the boys don't drink enough during the game to have an impact.
Another techinique we have tried with tremendous success are nicotine patches. I have purchased the generic 21mg patches from walmart, cut them into fourths, and applied them to our players arms to great effect.
