* Well I hope I didn't come across as trite, 'cause that wasn't really my aim. I just hate seeing folks get all constipated about events that are spun to appear as deviating from the bullshit status quo, which never actually happens in politics, IMO. Cleetus pretty much sewed it up too. Pick the one who sucks the least.
* There's often some serious brainpower here at XPT, so we all know that this spinning is meant for the heathen masses anyway. Too many of them have it that it's our fundamental right as Americans to be uncomprimising in our efforts to attain wealth, stature, influence, etc. This is, to say the least, problematic.
* Due to my own particular upbringing, I've had deep insights into both sides of the political spectrum, but as an Independent I'm acutely aware that a pragmatic stance is often shat upon by those farther from the center. We're all on the same team here really, right? It's a burden, sometimes I just want to give up and join a team so that for once I'll have the heft and noise in my corner. But at what price?
* This current polarization is unhealthy, but our nation has been here before many times as those who studied their history know all too well. I guess it's up to our generation to see it through to calmer waters. That's my charge, and my take.
