A pizza cook in Madison was taking out the trash when he saw a rape in progress, took pictures with his cell phone and joined the attack earlier this month, according to a criminal complaint.

He's now charged in connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman near University Avenue on Labor Day morning.

The complaint said that Mario Orlando-Amaya took photos of two men assaulting a woman behind Ian's Pizza, called his co-workers to watch and then joined the men in the rape on Sept. 4.

One of the other men charged in the assault, Anthony Freda of Brookfield, is expected to make an appearance in Dane County Circuit Court on Thursday.

Marcus Bonner of Milwaukee was in court on Wednesday, and his bond was set at $45,000 cash. Bonner was formally charged with kidnapping and eight counts of party to the crime of sexual assault in Dane County Court on Wednesday, WISC-TV reported.

Bonner and Freda are charged with kidnapping and sexual assault. Orlando-Amaya is charged with sexual assault. His court appearance is Tuesday.

The alleged attack happened in the 500 block of University Avenue in the early-morning hours of Sept. 4.
