I knew a guy whose "fetish" was buying stuff for women, or even sending them money outright. He would seriously beg to send women gifts or money, and then ask what they spent it on. I thought it was a little fucked up, but I guess in his mind it allowed him to make some kind of connection with women he otherwise wouldn't be able to have.
I imagine the typical porn chick must attract a fair share of guys like this, so why not avoid the hassle and just post a "wish list"? It's a win/win situation, so I don't see a problem with it.
