In the last few years Max has shot one scene, over and over, sometimes with a different sofa, sometimes with a different girl (but never with a different guy). Even those who do get off on puking have got to get bored.

Max probably blames everything on his legal problems, but I think the rut and pointlessness is most of it. With a few exceptions he doesn't even get B-grade girls any more. I should have asked Ashley Blue her opinion of him at her chat: she’d be the ideal girl for him but I bet she thinks his work is boring, if she’s seen any of it.

Max claims to be a pioneer but that's only because nobody else is heading that way. Pioneers might be Hal Freeman, Alex DeRenzy and John Stagliano – guys who did new stuff, broke new ground, and later had others successfully follow.

The Gag Daddy is probably the antithesis of Max - he shoots a huge variety of stuff, practically every genre except Vivid (too much pride for that I suspect, or maybe there aren’t sedatives strong enough to get him in the Vivid mindset).

Another director I think is in a rut is Rodney Moore, but Rodney has far more talent than Max. Rodney needs to find another sidekick like Wolf Savage to fire him up.
