First of all, the Mandalay Bay Events Center is SOOOOOO fuckin' far away, it might as well be in Jean, Nevada. To answer your question, the tables get eaten up by insiders because the conventional wisdom is you can't be a player if you're not at your own table.

More importantly, the table revenue of approximately $250K more than pays for the facilities charge, so any seats taken up in the stands is gravy for the profit producing event. It's good work when you can get it...
