Just because I'm bringing up an issue that has never been resolved doesn't mean I'm a 'newbie'. I've been in the industry since 1999 - but I'm sure its nothing when compared to your years of service.

I'm not necessarily pro-Bush. I'm pro-choice, pro-business, pro-freedom. I'm against government intervention in my affairs. I'm against excessive taxation to provide welfare recipients with a free ride. I'm against religious organizations that want to restrict my freedom. And - I'm against political organizations that will flat-out lie to unseat a candidate.

My point with this post is that there is no unified voice from the industry that can successfully lobby government due to the fragmented nature of adult entertainment. Everybody sits around whining about how the Bill of Rights is being stripped but nobody is willing to put their money where their mouth is until their freedom is at stake. Because of that mentality organizations like the FSC are too busy trying to put out small fires around the country.

Conservative right-wing christian groups kick millions of dollars into the till every year to lobby government and restrict our freedom. What does the multi-billion dollar adult entertainment industry kick in to lobby government????

Adult entertainment IS mainstream, millions of people across the country consume it regularly. I'm pretty fucking sure that if the industry as a whole kicked in $20 million (out of the supposed billions of dollars generated annually) the 'obsenity' problem would be resolved for everybody.

Its 2004! Isn't it time the industry forms a coherent plan and a real trade organization to address national issues that really matter???
