Howard Stern's people are going to be there?!! Wow, if it was '96 instead of '06 it would almost matter!
You're wrong here. Stern is taking a new, previously untested communications medium and expanding the threshold for adult entertainment in this country. The work is groundbreaking.
Meanwhile, Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) says you don't have the right to listen to Stern on a pay-for-access network. Guess what??? He also wants to stop adult entertainment over cable and satellite television networks.
Since 2005 Stevens has been lining up support for a bill to expand the FCC's authority over other network media to protect Americans against unwanted intrusion of pornography. That means: Satellite, Cable and Internet. If you work in porn, you won't be able to sell your 'obscene' products on a store shelf, PPV it over cable or satellite OR broadcast it over the Internet.
What could be more relevant than Stern being at the forefront of the 1st Amendment fight that is brewing???
Senator Stevens was elected to congress in 1968 and is up for re-election in 2008. Campaign contributions to any opposing candidate would be in order, as would contacting his office to tell him you do not approve of expanding the FCC's authority.
If you'd like to contact the Honorable Mr. Stevens, you can do so HERE, just don't be an idiot and say anything that will get you arrested...
