As reported on avn.com Conservative Groups Target Hotel Porn By: Carlos Martinez Posted: 10:25 am PDT 9-6-2006 WASHINGTON - A consortium of several conservative organizations is targeting hotels that provide adult videos for guests as part of a new anti-porn effort. The consortium, made up of 13 conservative groups, recently created CleanHotels.com, a Web site that gives travelers listings of hotels in the U.S. that don’t show porn to guests, the Christian Science Monitor reported. The organization is also running full page ads in USA Today urging law enforcement to prosecute hotel owners for violating obscenity laws. Phil Burress, president of the Ohio-based Citizens for Community Values, which is part of the consortium, said his organization was disgusted by the number of major hotels that provide hardcore porn to its guests. He explained that he wanted to expose hotels that offer porn and thus allow the market to eventually eliminate porn from hotels. But Paul Cambria, general counsel for the Los Angeles-based Adult Freedom Foundation, said that hotels are merely providing a service and that they will likely not be intimidated by the effort. He added that prosecutors would see prosecuting hoteliers as a waste of time and money. Although it’s unclear the value of the hotel pay-per-view porn market since hotels don’t keep track of it, Kagan Research says pay-per-view and video-on-demand market in hotels and residences is valued at about $1.6 billion this year. This latest anti-porn effort comes about a year after the Justice Department formed the Obscenity Prosecution Task Force aimed at prosecuting members of the adult industry as opposed to those who peddle in illegal child porn. Last summer, the department was recruiting FBI agents to investigate the adult industry, causing a furor among federal law-enforcement agencies. But even so, Burress complained that the Bush Administration has done little curb pornography. Cambria, however, blames such reluctance on the part of federal officials to prosecute porn producers as a sign that porn has become more socially acceptable.

Hotels make more money off of travelling business men (who like to unwind after a long hard day by jacking off to some nubile young 18 year old chick getting her ass thoroughly plundered) than they do off of God Botherers with a stick up their asses. Remember, most hotel rooms come with a free copy of the bible...NOT a free copy of FOX Magazine. People will pay money to watch porn...only a fucktard would pay money to watch God Bothering TV channels. Money talks, at the end of the day. If porn offends these folks so much, then I would humbly suggest they don't watch it...otherwise they are going to open the floodgates to a whole raft of other religious groups with nitpicking complaints, and before you know it, the girl at the check-in desk will be wearing a burqah.

Something to think of, Adam and Eve were naked in paradise. Only when they sinned did they want to cover themselves up. By those standards whatever religion that requires more of the body to be covered up, is more then likely the most sinful religion. Or at least thats how my logic works.

Next they will be telling us what we can and cant do to the whore we have in our hotel room.Keep in mind that if you vote Republican this November you are part of the problem.

Seems to me it is high time that certain folks in the industry buried the hatchet, let bygones be bygones, and start getting organised to fight this multi-frontal assault from right-wing jesus junkies (in which I include the current US administration). Ask Playboy, owners of Club Jenna: 'At the current rate of progress, how long before anal is ruled to be 'obscene'?' Ask the internet people: 'If they get Ray Guhn, who are they gonna get next?' Ask the Internet Convention people: 'How will convention attendances be affected by the prospect of foreign or out-of-state webmasters being arrested upon arrival?' Ask the online retailers and rental outlets: 'How much is it going to keep costing you to dispose of products that have all of a sudden become 'obscene' and thus illegal?' The industry needs to approach this as one, and with a united front. If that means having to club together to defend the likes of Rob Black and Max Hardcore, so be it. Don't let the God Botherers draw first blood, as it will only encourage and embolden them further.

Consider the fact that Alberto Gonzales in recent days (as elaborated in his interview with Wolf Blitzer two days ago) has made it clear that Osama is NOT the priority he once was.
It appears however, that they shifted their focus towards pornography, including busting a Brazilian man, Danilo Simoes Croce, who shipped DVDs to the US.
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0907061bukk1.html?link=eaf
Gross as they might be to some, Croce's videos featured consenting adults -- no children and no animals.
Fact is folks, the election is coming and the GOP assume that they can hold onto their voter base by targeting not Osama, but guys like Jeff Steward.
And Katherine Harris, the chick that pretty much gave Bush the Presidency, last week said that there should NOT be a separation of church and state.
The right wing propagandists on this board will somehow spin it that Harris' comments didn't matter, or that somehow the Dems were to blame -- but reality is reality and her words are very frightening for the future of people who disagree with her views.

Say what you will about Clinton...he was good for porn! Penthouse went hardcore as did all the "Adult Cinema" type mags... And the Starr Report was some primo smut and they had that all over the news for weeks!
Life,Liberty,Pursuit of happiness-> <-repugs
I'm in 100% agreement about Clinton.
Anyone who saw Rob Black and Lizzy Borden's film Forced Entry also might agree. In the DVD release, the bonus features included the PBS Frontline documentary American Porn (2002).
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/porn/interviews/black.html
In that documentary the then Democratic Attorney General of the United States of America, Janet Reno, explicitly states that there was a decision made by the then Democratic administration to divert funds AWAY from fighting pornography and instead put those funds towards fighting terrorism.
Under Clinton, extreme hardcore porn -- the shit most of us here at XPT like -- flourished!!!!!!!
Alberto Gonzales, based on his ridiculous personal beliefs, or hang-ups, seems to have instituted the exact opposite, much to the chagrin of FBI agents (and US taxpayers) who felt the focus should be on fighting terrorism.

The facts speak for themselves.
I'm sure the right wingers will find a way to blame Sandy Berger for everything though. Maybe they'll even make a two part TV movie about it over at ABC.

Democrats are also corporate. So. what is the difference between the two? One is for social freedoms and one is for economic freedoms. It needs to be a balance.
