Blaming Republicans for high gas prices and "control" of the oil industry is a simplistic left wing talking point that has no merit. If Republicans had control of the oil biz they would keep gas prices low to spur on the economy and pimp it politically for all its worth. Politicians are greedy, but not so greedy that they will risk losing their cushy position over oil. Republicans wouldn't have allowed themselves to take it on the chin like they have been recently concerning oil if they truly had control. If Democrats didn't listen to the environmentalist doom and gloomers and block every attempt to drill for oil in Alaska and off shore maybe prices would drop. I love the "war for oil" theory too. If we "occupied" Iraq to "steal" their oil shouldn't oil prices have dropped long ago? Where is all this oil we supposedly went to war for? And using an article by Joe Rospars, Howard Dean's personal media bitch, is like me citing Ann Coulter as a reference, not exactly an impartial source. Anyway, I can't wait for some smart fucker to find a viable alternative energy source so we can stop buying oil from the Middle East and let those fuckers toil in economic despair.
