I liked him until he did School of Rock. Once you do movies with little kids in them, you're on your way out. Think Vin Really-I'm-Straight Diesel in The Pacifier or even Shwarzenegger in Kindergarten Cop.

Don't forget Eddie Murphy.. that guy has sold his damn soul to Disney, et. al. Cuba Gooding Jr. had promise also until he did Snow Dogs.

As far as Jack Black goes, Envy is the worst movie ever made. I did enjoy Saving Silverman, though.

I have no problem with the dude, but Larry the Cable Guy on the other hand. Let's not even start. All the rednecks around my area love the guy though. Do they not realize he's MAKING FUN OF THEM????

I really enjoyed Saving Silverman though, mainly cause it reminded me and my buddies of a friend we had.(although his girlfriend was quite stupid, but could still drag him around by a leash.)

This is a classic take off on the "Jesus Christ Superstar" film Jack Black did in '96 on Mr Show...Really cool if you have seen the original.

"The Last Detail" has one of my favorite Jack Nicholson performances and is a great time capsule of the early 70's.
It could be awful but I have trust in Linklater's skills. Everything Caoh said is right on...(miss Oppenheimer tho...)

I had not heard about this. Christ, I hope Nicholson and Quaid have people near them letting them know what a great fucking idea this is.

I saw 'The Passenger' years ago on The Movie Channel or something. I remember Nicholson doing a scene whdere he was bored waiting on one of his adopted identity meetings and smears a bug against a wall. I also remember the footage of the firing squad, with the poor fucker rousing after each salvo for whatever reason, body or mind. BLAM. and the grainy film shows the whites of his eyes blazing forward yet again and his arms come up gracefully as if he was trying to finish some business of life before he's gone.And Nicholson hitting his Jeep with a shovel. And that lovely young woman. And the camera drifting at the end. I only speak English and a very little German and am monstrously ignorant of the life of the rest of the world outside America. So subtitle films are seriously stillborn things for me.The only other Antonioni movies I've seen are 'The Red Desert' and his bit in 'eros' from a few years back. I have no contexts for it, but I love his feel for being the looker, not necessarily and stupidly godlike as in Kubrick but like the god within looking lusting a despairing .
