In catching up on my XPT reading this morning I came across two statements that I really believe everyone should really, really read and understand, and I thank Ivor and Smelly Monkey, respectively for providing these two blurbs of universally true wisdom:

Its no accident that they are always finding themselves in relationships with assholes because when you have been a victim then its easier to keep putting yourself in that position rather then being with someone who loves you and wants to treat you right as that means you have to resolve your previous problems, open your heart and let your guard down for this person, its a lot easier to be guarded and fuck a scum bag then to address your issues, overcome them and start clean with a good guy.
