A High Park school principal -- and sister of the city's deputy mayor -- is facing charges after allegedly throwing human feces at children.
Maria Pantalone, principal of Keele St. Elementary School and sister of Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone, will not be back to work until the charges have been dealt with, the Toronto District School Board said.
"It does not involve students from the school," said Penny Mustin, executive superintendent of employee services for the TDSB, adding she could not comment further.
The incident allegedly occurred June 30.
Pantalone is suspended with pay and has been removed from the school setting. That's standard procedure for any TDSB employee in this situation.
She will be in court Aug. 29.
Pantalone told CITY-TV "nothing happened."
Her brother could not be reached yesterday, but earlier had told CITY-TV he couldn't say much because the case is before the courts.
"My sister is of good character," he said.
