It would generally save a lot of money if murder investigations were halted at six weeks and the most likely suspect at that point hanged.

The dude apparently described some details of the murder not publicly disclosed. That's why they think he might well have done it.

The police department that was so critical of the DA for not filing against the kid's parents just took a *huge* credibility hit, and *REALLY* *HUGE* hit.
