Just be careful, Rob. The US admits it doesn't work quite as hard to resolve problems for persons of dual citizenship carrying dual passports.

And, games can be played, if some evil person wanted to, with "applying for" and "automatically granted" with searching out such citizenships.

A person who is "automatically granted" another citizenship does not risk losing U.S. citizenship. However, a person who acquires a foreign citizenship by "applying for it" by free choice may lose U.S. citizenship, especially if viewed with the intention to give up U.S. citizenship.

The "political climate" comment in the wrong hands could come back to haunt you. Imagine an "administration" interested in giving a person of your "livlihood" a hard time ...
