What exactly is an "aggressively noncommital cultural artifact"? It sounds like a nonsensical phrase made up by an unemployed English major who thinks the post-modernist rubbish they were taught is worth repeating in the company of others.
It means that such stuff exists only to be cute (it seems to me) and what emotion is in it is ugly and disposable. It's a reactionary pose disregarding the artist-audience contract, but then floating into nothing. That is what I mean by noncimmital and aggressive. I hate this kind of insipid smirking souless bullshit and find it extremerly offensive. I just feel lost and out of sorts.

And what difference is there between stuff existing only to be cute and stuff that exists that may be cute but that wasn't the intention of the artist? And why did you pick an almost contradictory phrase like "noncommital and aggressive"?
