Sure, she's doing less films per year and making less annual income, but the ratio of annual income/ film has her come out making more per film than if she were independent. The terms of the contract are negotiated before her contract begins; thus guaranteed income. It may not be as much as when she was independent, but it is security. Also, under contract, you are not just working for a company but with a company. Career goals may be easier to obtain when you are a part of the company's growth.
