It was a regrettable incident, but since the escaped monkey seemed otherwise docile and pleasant, I chose not to intervene and cause bad to go to primitive and tragic. Plus I have respect for authoreity and station and didn't want to intrude upon zookeeper territory. They arrived straightaway by the way and spirited the monkey back into environmental simulated captivity. But what I really wanted to say is personal and a result of ther fallout on this. As the situation had salve put on it by more well adjusted and stable relatives, I overheard one of them remark to another who was upset "Honey, I now it's sad, but you can't help somebody who doesn't want it. The choice is his." I agree with that.
