CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Chatsworth Pictures owner Nelson X has joined the AVN team as the newest associate editor for the monthly print magazine. Initially entering the industry in 1999, Nelson brings with him plenty of experience within the adult entertainment industry.

“It’s really exciting,” Nelson told AVN.com of his new position. “This is a whole new side of the business for me, and so it’s a little scary, but definitely exciting.”

While hiring a production company head as an AVN staff writer may give the appearance of a conflict of interest, in Nelson’s case, there won’t be an actual conflict, said AVN Editor-in-Chief Mike Ramone.

“Nelson obviously will not be reviewing any of his own Chatsworth Pictures releases,” Ramone said. “While unprecedented to hire someone actively involved in the production end of the industry to work on the AVN editorial staff, Nelson’s excellent writing skills and knowledge of the industry make him a very attractive hire.

“We’re confident he will be a fair and impartial reviewer.”

Nelson first delved into adult with Legend Video, in the company’s public relations department. After seven years with Legend, he left and started his own company in Chatsworth Pictures (formally SkinTight Pictures). Nelson, who jointly owns the company with Cram Johnson, has directed and produced several titles for Chatsworth Pictures as well.

“It’s AVN, so obviously I’m really proud to work here,” said Nelson.

That makes two good moves in the right direction by AVN; getting rid of Heidi and now hiring Nelson.

Now we have to kiss YOUR ASS to to get good reviews, and then you too will leave the comfort of AVN and refer to yourself as an ICON or a legend... but either way just like Brad Pitt everyone around you will change except you. Let me add with all kidding aside.. it was the smartest move AVN has made in along time. Things get stale but not with you around.
