I think zenman is referring to an area just south of the Oudkirk (Old Church). I haven't been to Amsteredam since 2002 but I remember the girls as being #1 there. An ugly truth - if you are ethnic you will find it difficult to get "serviced" there though. Use a urinoir just for the hell of it - this is a street side urinal. The advice to see the museums is a good one - especially the Amsterdam City Museum. Walk along "Kielverstraat" (spelling ???) the silver, porcelain, and antique shops are amazing. Get out of Amsterdam also - the south lowlands around Delft are beautiful. The red ligh district is packed with people at night - everyone is having a great time. Friday and Saturday night can be somewhat intimidating though when the "Brits" come into town for the weekend though (sorry another ugly truth - they get drunk and roam around - some shopkeepers lock their doors). Walk through there during the day also - it isn't a slum by any means - _it's the oldest and one of the best maintained parts of the city. Walk along the canals on the west side of the city - it's beautiful there - you can do this for hours! Enjoy!
