We hired a cameraman named Miles Long (of Sight & Sounds Productions, Inc.) for our last shoot. He came recommended as he has shot for Michael Ninn before and that was the type of look we were trying to achieve.
BIG MISTAKE!
Not only would he not take direction, he had no problem telling everybody else how to do their jobs, even the director!
It was both hilarious and insulting listening to him tell Evan Stone (winner of best male performer at this year's AVN awards) what he was doing wrong and how to improve his performance. Kudos to Evan for not clocking the guy.
The director would tell him how he wanted a shot blocked out and this guy would just nod and then shoot it the same way he shot everything else, blown out, out of focus on every closeup, and every shot is at a dutch angle (not a single level scene in 5 hours of recorded footage).
This guy was one of the least talented camera operators I've ever seen and that's including my drunk Uncle Vern on a camcorder. At least Uncle Vern can transition from one shot to another insted of just dropping the camera to his side and walking across the set before bringing the camera back up to the action.
Not to mention that he verbally insulted the female talent so much that one of them, Jessie Summers, left the business.
Miles Long = Worst Shoot Day of Your Life
