the thing about GnR at the time was they were like an
antidote to all the bad hair metal that had been scraped off the Sunset Strip and sprayed all over the airwaves...i was solidly into punk and Hardcore and thrash at the time but GnR's first album found it's way into the hearts of me and my skater pals ...becuz it was real and surprising refreshing. or that coulda all just been the Marketing Angle they were going for anyway...who knows?
