Portugal were good, Deco wasn't playing, will be next game.
Italy are playing one of the tightest, well put together games in the world cup. Germany are a powerhouse. I am still siding with Portugal, could be the dark horse.

I say godamnnnnnn!!!... its gonna be france for sure, they are playing so fucking good, its great to se players like Viera, Zizou and Henry do what they do best. Not that Brazil was playing as we expected but they are still Brazil nonetheless. It sucks that England got eliminated but they haven´t shown anything that could put them as world class contenders...I hope france takes it!!!...Europe for europeans, America for americans...that´s a fact

What a fucking boring game i saw yesterday(final)...lousy world cup, i mean there were some good matches but overall shitty gameplay...and having to shoot penalties to see who wins the big game is just sad. Maybe its how the game is evolving, maybe its the defensive tendency the sport is having, maybe its the overpaid salaries most of these guys are being paid, maybe its the lack of ambition(champions league, libertadores, european leagues)...i was fucking bored during most of the games, one of the biggest dissapointment IMO was england, how can a team with players like lampard, rooney, owen, ferdinand, gerrard manage to play at the level they showed throughout the whole tournament i don´t know; brazil was awful too, maybe it was their coach, maybe it was the fact that these guys have won almost everything there is to win, i dunno, but overall this world cup sucked...

France lost  Italy won The results were good enough for me as a very casual soccer fan. It's funny because i loved soccer as a kid with the Cosmos but it just never got in my blood as I got older.

I remember watching one game during the world cup and the fans were lighting flares throughout the stadium. One of the commentators said "You don't see this kind of passion in American sports." I'm thinking to myself, thank fucking God. That's all I need. Go to a football game and some drunk assholes set off some flares burn some fellow spectators or even burn the stadium down, start a stampede and trample a few thousand people to death. Now that's passion.
