Sadly, there is much truth to this statement...the Govt often attempts, with varying degrees of severity, to simply steamroll or intimidate you into settling, copping a plea or packing up. I have, and am, actually, experiencing this first hand with the IRS. The typical govt agency/bureacracy is FULL of a lot of the average and miserable people who could NOT make it in mainstream society or in the private sector. Add to it the ridiculous and FAKE ideological fervor that Bush and Albert seem to be bringing here, and this indeed will cost a lot of $$$$.

Several things:

1) Porn, if the industry had ANY virtue and good will just towards ITSELF, would have a legal defense fund to help any member in times like these. It also presents a united front, and does, even in a small way, further legitimize in everyone's eyes the whole concept of Porn as a business protected by the constitution...

2) Regarding the cops and how they do shit....In the Legend experience recounted above, 30 cops at Jeff's house sounds about right. You see, cops are bored much of the time, except the patrol guys. So, probably about 3 days before the Legend Raid, word went out around the division that "Hey we are going to raid a Porn Producer! Who wants to go? We might see some really FUCED up shit, maybe some hott skanks fucking right when we move in...." etc. You get the idea. 30!!!! WTF....

3) All first amendment debate aside, though, porn DOES need to stop and look at what it is doing. I am just sayin'....there's sexy, arousing....and then there is stuff that you are producing MERELY because you think you have the right to produce it and therefore should, or just to say "You did it, or did it first."

But I will get bombed/stoned in JM's honor today....
