Haven't yet seen the movie but read the book - generally poorly written but a topic I'm interested in (Knights Templar, Rosicrucians et al). The reviews of the movie have not been kind - sort of like Coochie Monster's reviews of Kami unkind.

Here's a reminder of Dan Brown's prose style:

"Almost inconceivably, the gun into which she was now staring was clutched in the pale hand of an enormous albino with long white hair."

For those interested in the topic, another FICTIONAL work, that is a little more intellectually rigourous is Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum The characters take all the great conspiracies and feed them into a computer to create a super-conspiracy! There's also gunplay in churches and museums and feats of derring-do by the Knights Templar.

It's got lots of little puzzles and stuff too, only they're a lot harder to solve (well, for me anyway).
