man i loved this show. i'm not talking about the crappy new version, i'm talking the original late 80s/early 90s cartoon. i use to run home from school to catch it everyday at 4pm, and if i had to miss it- and it had to be something important like a relations imminent death- i'd tape that shit. all my mates had the toys, and we'd find sewers to hang out in and look for massive rats. raph was my fave- the sarcastic loner. leo was clearly a fag, don was okay, and mikey added the comic relief- stupid fat guys are always funny. cowabunga dudes!

Weren't the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were an underground comic-book for years before they were made into a TV show? It must have been subversive cool or something like that, for I knew a guy who got "Donatello"(sp?) tattooed on his upper arm from the shoulder to the elbow. Not 2 years later it becomes a kids show and you know all the rest. This guy was the first person I ever knew who had a tattoo, and not surprisingly this cautionary tale was lodged into my brain for good. I remain ink free.

yeah, they had comic books out in the mid 80's. The TMNT arcade game was awesome...it was one of those big multi-player ones with 4 joy sticks.
Lord Krang was kick ass...he had that fucked up voice on the cartoon.
hell yeah, i remember the arcade game, that was mad fun. i also had a TMNT game on my family's commodore 64, but i struggled at it, possibly because i was only 5 when it came out.

Looks like the very same TMNT game from the NES. I played it like crazy but couldn't make it past MechaTurtle. I found an emulator at some point into adulthood, played again, beat Mechaturtle and then beat the Shredder. (all too easy if Donatello has sufficient health.)
I still remember the kick-ass 8-bit soundtrack from the jam-masters at Konami. (Ultra games was a division of Konami.)

oh man. TMNT was classic. Also remember Kung-Fu and Duck Hunt? The only gaming I do anymore is N64: Donkey Kong Country, Golden Eye and Mario Kart.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom coin op was in my local pizza parlor as a kid. I spent a lot of time and dropped a lot of quarters in that game. "We walk from here."

The TMNT game for the SuperNES was the shit.It was cool the way you picked up enemies and threw them towards the TV screen.
I think that was "Turtles in Time". A fine entry into the TMNT genre. I think you even got to fight Krang and his cyborg body.
