peyton needs too much shit to function for my tastes. no doubt he's marino-redux. but the fact is he couldn't do it with edge, 2 of the best wideouts in football and a line with tarik glenn protecting him. i could watch him throw deep-hitches all day, i just think the day for a qb like that came and went before dan fouts.

i'd disagree with someone like brady or aikman being a pure pocket-guy in the mold of marino or manning. not saying 20 steps out of where they're supposed to set, maybe 3-5 of the right steps. that's all you need. peyton can't do it.

when warner was on, his release took him far outside of any pocket passer for adapting/dumping.
AZ is my huge IF this year. they've got the back, they've got the 2nd best split end in the game this year. and if kurt still sees things in half-speed, they've got the qb. and if not, they've got the most polished passer to come through the draft since carson.

have you guys ever heard of Joe Montana???...anybody at all???...Manning is nice, but he aint won dick...same with Marino...at least Favre got one, and is on the verge of eclipsing Marino's records...why do you think he came back?!!..the Pack wont win shit this year...it's all about records. Steve Young was damn good as was Elway. 2 of the best. Montana,Elway,Favre...in that order...

There are few teams in professional sports that are more difficult to be a fan of than the AZ Cards. But keep the faith new season = new hope.

Fuck that. My father was born in Hyde Park (Chicago) tried to be a Chicago Cardinals fan...they sucked. Moved to St. Louis, started a family....Cards followed....still sucked. Moved out to Phoenix, the bastards keep following us like locusts...still sucked.
The Cardinals biggest problems are at the very top, the Bidwells are incompetent and have been since their father died...well it's a long fucking story, but trust me, Floof is 100% on.

That the Cardinals ownership have purported to field an NFL caliber team for ohhh, the last 70 years or so now should be prosecuted as fraud. I admit, with a new stadium and top dollar (slightly aged) running back, they just might make the playoffs. I would be happy for them, I just might be able to see them in a home game on television, they've been blacked out for the last 5 years , you know.
However, this team is so snakebitten, or has accrued such bad karma that I am certain that the before next February the current optimism will have vanished like a mirage in the West Valley.
* Concussion
* Torn ACL(s)
* Completely unlikely and punishing Act of God
Remember these words, for at least one of these three afflictions will be catastrophically visited upon the Cardinals this year. The best/saddest part will be watching Denny Green's tenuous grasp on sanity come unglued with some seismic paint-peeling meltdown. He'll be back in Iowa City coaching the shot-put and discus at City High by next track season. Fuck the Cardinals' skinflint owner and his family, fuck them in their stupid asses. They will break your heart.

I was just fuckin around. The League will never contract there is too much money at stake. The Cards just need to spend money on players and spend it wisely. Its a great area and good fans they just need to fork over the coin and get a competitive team.

The Cards have done just that in this off-season. My point is that I sense impending disaster, a collapse, a letdown. That is simply what the local fan has come to expect with this ownership regime. It really is that bad.
Edit to add: Sorry for the hijack, yes Carson Palmer is good, not the best, and that his injury happened as it did and when it did was bullshit. That's all I gotta say about that.

Tom Brady is the best in the league right now. Give him a decent running back and home field advantage in the playoffs and will see how good Carson/or any other QB is.

Be glad you guys don't have a team. It will be impossible for your market to blacked-out. Living in San Diego, back in the day, when they sucked, no one would go to the stadium so they would get blacked-out.
The League also puts on games that coincide with the area you live in. So San Diego gets to see the AGC West games, Chicago would see NFC North games, etc... That part was great, got to see my Chiefs play, but they aren't going anywhere this year, defense look awful
