Actually a bare-handed spanking can hurt more than a cane as the hand pounds ones behind with the weight of the whole hand while the cane (at least in moderation) stings, not that I would know about such matters as I prefer to spend my time either listening to Dennis Prager's moralizations on the radio or reading Torah with Luke Ford.
