I too employed the panini machine today: Cuban Sandwich with home-baked bread (Bittman's No-Knead Bread), mustard, pickle slices, ham, swiss cheese and roasted pork. Accompanied with a pickle/green olive/bacon/habanero sauce potato salad.

At this moment, have Marcella Hazan's Bolognese Sauce bubbling away (ground a chuck roast instead of buying hamburger) in the kitchen and have just removed the beef from a "Tuscan Roast" featuring tomatoes, juniper berries, red wine, etc. Earlier, did a Batali recipe of pan-fried baby potatoes with fresh oregano and a Vodka/Cream/Prosciutto sauce.
