Wasn't too hungry. 3 black coffees from Starbucks and a side of pickles at Greenblatt's. That place is amazing and I'm going back.

I went to one of my favorite lunch spots today and tried a daily special I didn't expect to enjoy. It was a grilled turkey and pimento cheese sandwich on rye with a marinated tomato and mushroom salad. I washed it down with a glass of iced tea (brewed sweetened of course, bitches). They make the pimento cheese in house. It was damned good.

I had 2 x 1.5 litre FIJI water's (well the second refill was from the office sparkletts) and one of those SUPER ENERGY packs of mystery vitamins you see at the counter in 7-11 for $1.49.

Ive been having them in the morning when i stop off on the way to work to pick up a 1.5 litre FIJI brand water. But today i grabbed a croissant as well, ate that. and saved the energy pack for lunch.

Im actually quite impressed with them, they keep me energized practically all day up until my evening run (around 5/5:30) only thing i notice is they turn your piss neon yellow.

Didn't have time for lunch so gonna make very plain and simple crab salad, stuff seasoned Salmon, bake it covered in a little bit of olive oil. And some angel hair pasta butter and herb sauce with it. The butter sauce is the most fattening part of it all but whatever, didn't have lunch.

I miss el crazy polo. BRC's are yummy. Love their churro's too!!

Today, I ordered the grilled chicken caesar salad from the cafeteria across the street.

The lettuce tasted a bit "stale" or possibly "freezer-burned". The dressing was "ok". The grilled chicken breast was tender and warm. The piece of garlic bread was small. I wanted to ask the gentleman serving the lunch if I could have the larger piece in the tray, but he had the smaller piece selected and the styrofoam container closed before I could say anything.

I should have opted for the lamb kabob over saffron rice or the tenderloin sandwich with frenched fried potatoes. Damn the electric fence!

Oh well, there's always tomorrow and that's what makes LUNCH exciting every day.

I had a shredded, BBQ Beef Sandwich out of the Sanese vending machines. It cost $1.75. I also had a styrofoam cup of free coffee that the warehouse provides for us. As is my pathological custom, I carried my lunch to a secluded, non-designated luncheon location in the warehouse, like usual over the grated flor and leaning against the coated steel shelves of the rarely visited end of Zone S on the 2nd tier. In my makeshift dining area, I chewed and really agonized over all my human interaction in the warehouse of this morning and early afternoon as always. And as usual I wept a few tears involuntarily in self pity realizing from the pathetic evidence of my interactions with others that I had no hope of being the kind of man that could take care of a woman, and that I did not in any way deserve Tammi. The constant fear is that society intervenes, its heralds in the dim shepe of familiars descending upon her with "You can do better". And she can because I can fix her car, can't argue with a bill collector, can't do anything really, can't clear brush, can't tell a black youth proclaiming she's is fin to chill, dog, can't take charge, can't make action, can't proscribe a course. I just hate being unworthy don't you? Every weekend I pray I'll drinki enough to find a core backbone with enough sense and fortitude to kill myself. But never. Cowardice keeps me alive. I'm certain of that, though I've never b eeen certain of anything useful to the negotiation of live. Cowardice= living onward. Life is the coward's way out.

Mongolian barbeque, with lots of different meats: chicken, beef, lamb, and pork. Extra spicy.

Loop's lunch seemed less ostentatious than previous lunches. I hope he isn't running low on lunch money.

I went to Baja Fresh because of my adiction to quesadillas. I had the chicken quesadillas. The hot sauce wasnt as hot as I like it, but with a little help from the jalepenos, it was all good.

Chico Travieso, I present to you the following fine steakhouses and my personal recommendations:

Try Arroyo Chop House's chop house garlic Bread or scallops wrapped with pancetta as a starter before splurging on the prime beef skewers. If you're feeling a little playful, try the Filet Mignon- although I know a place in Pittsburgh that does better.

If you'd prefer a place in Hollywood try the Dakota in the Roosevelt Hotel. They've got some pretty good prime ribs if you don't mind atmosphere of yuppies etc. I stopped going here because I can't stand crowds.

On Wilshire Blvd theres The Lincoln Steakhouse. I'd recommend this place for dinner and if 8oz of flat iron steak or the 9oz angus filet mignon topped with maitre d’ butter and horseradish tarragon or blueberry compote doesn't fill you up-

dash to Santa Monica, find Palm's and order yourself some of their prime aged new york strips (either 12oz or 18oz).

Bon Appétit!

I'm right there with you Willie D. Tonights poison is the Tokyo Disaster.

1.5 measure vanilla flavored vodka
1 measure and an extra splash of cranberry juice
1 measure pineapple juice
1 measure orange juice

Shake with ice and pour into a martini glass. Kanpai!

Same with Boa inside the Grafton Hotel on Sunset Blvd. If you don't mind the ambiance, the steak (especially the prime rib or the filet mignon) is excellent. The tables are small and it's a bit noisy in there. Great service, and not too long of a wait if you don't have a reservation.

i'm generally not much of a white guy, even chteau d'yquem 01 didn't do much for me.

i've got half a case of ferrari carano's tresor around here, it's great shit for $50. i've shared a bottle of the 92 FC reserve red, which is now the same thing as the tresor, awesome wine.

there are so many goddamn morton's out there, some of them are great, some are less-so. i eat at the one down in stamford a lot and it's really good, the one in boston sucks.
go to the french laundry for me, that's the one restaurant in the states i still want to go to, year after year it always blows away the ny stuff actually near me and alain ducasse shouldn't even be on lists anymore.

IMHO, I still take Mortons Beverly Hills for steak....ive eaten at lugers, old homestead, boa, mastro's,angelo and maxies, S&W ,R Chris(insert $40 a la carte steak place here), etc etc...maybe because the prime rib is perfect, and you dont need to bother with a pesky menu..bring me meat, potato, and wine...

when i lived in the bay area i used to goto Napa 3 or 4 times a year.... i dined at FL in 2000, back when silicon valley was silicon valley and 22 year old tech'ies were lighting $50 cuban montecristo's with 100 bills in their covertible ferrari's on every 3rd street in Woodside...

Im split 50/50 on white/red, allthought 99% of the time im choosing a napa wine, usually from a house i enjoyed the tasting menu at in some musty underground cave....which reminds me its time to plan a trip...

I've found the food at Morton's is pretty uniform, the ambience varies from place to place--the one in Scottsdale is good, downtown Phx is horrible, the original near Loyola Medical Center is great.

Given the resources, my "food week" would be:

Monday: filet at Morton's on State St. (with asparagus!)
Tuesday: tennis at the Del in San Diego, swordfish at the Chart House across the street.
Wednesday: crawfish etoufee at Commander's in New Orleans.
Thursday: Cuban steak and sangria at Cha Cha Cha in the Haight Ashbury.
Friday: rack of lamb at El Chorro Lodge in Paradise Valley.
Saturday: lobster tacos from Chimayo on Huntington Beach.
Sunday: while taking a burro down to Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon, fly in a fresh king salmon from the Pike Place Market.

Alternates: The Charcoal House in St. Louis, Margaritaville on the Sausalito Pier, McDonald's cheeseburger at the Point Reyes Lighthouse (sentimental favorite).

Lights! Cameras! Death! There's something alluring about death and mayhem in a place so artificially feel-good as Hollywood. After all, this is a place where dreams come true, money flows like water, and fame can find you sitting at the ice-cream counter.
Hollywood is also the place where dreams die in agony, horrible murders are committed against the famous (and by the famous) and where the people who inspire "some" come to lose their minds- and their lives. I haven't lost my mind yet, but I feel a brilliant glossy sheen pocesses me every once in a while, a terrifying picture of a blasted landscape, pulverized pinging lights appear and disappear bringing some semblance of structural stability to the detonating dissonance that blasts forth all around, until the piece implode, collapse, and then segue into the calmer stutter of 'where for art' and its sound field of alien clicks and distant moans.
That was before LUNCH:

My girlfriend and I met up with my good pal wisp and his girl today at Kiriko. I like to think of myself quite the sushi expert so I sometimes tend to recommend stuff for people saying "unagi sunomono is prefrable to salamari soba salad unless you don't mind soy mustard dressing". My friend wisp always does the opposite of what I say which naturally tends to spark some argument.
I settled on some clam miso soup for starters while occasionally dipping into my girlfriends smoked salmon and mango. wisp's girl excluded this part of lunch and decided she'd wait for the main course where she ordered the white fish carpacchio as I had recommended. This is comprised of thin sliced white fish topped off with Julienne vegetables. Wisp settled for the yummy yakitoro no nigiri which is seared toro sushi blended with the Chef's special sauce. My girlfriend and I went for a combination plate which offered assorted sushi rolls, maki, nigiri etc as well as the Honey balsamic teriyaki chiken, which is grilled chicken with Honey balsamic teriyaki sauce served with mashed sweet potato .
After lunch we began to insult everyone involved in the making of Mission: Impossible 3, bad commericals and ugly children before everyone began to laugh at me for not finishing a 120 page script due first thing Monday morning.
Argh- who cares. LUNCH was spectacular and I got a new copy of Liquid Swords today by the GZA. So..how'd you break bread today friend?

Today my good friend Sparky came over to see me. It was a very big surprise because I haven't seen Sparky in, probably 2 months. Anyway, Sparky and I had a lot to catch up on.. we touched on just about everything- from music, women, work- hell I even managed to squeeze in Cheryl Hines into the conversation. We were so engaged in the conversation that I had almost forgotten LUNCH until I saw something on the television about food. It seems there are a lot of ads on television about fast food, anyone else ever notice that?
Anyway- I asked Sparks whether he was down for a Semmel and he nodded yes. A semmel is a simple white bread roll from Austria which is then servered with saucy dishes such as a paprika gulyas, or roast pork.
I made myself and Sparky a Kartoffel Knoedel- which is a semmel with potato dumpling and some paprika gulyas. Sparky added some sauerkraut (veggies) and Hungarian sausage cut into chunks. Greedy bastard. I had some sour cream on the side but ate so fast I only managed 2 dips. Dammit. Sundays are lazy for me. Lunch was good. What was cooking up in your kitchen?

Today I meet Jodie for lunch. Jodie is a British writer and is super fucking hot. She's supposedly writing a book of female surfers but looking at her, you'd think she's a Jeri Hall clone. And she's very hypnotic too- if she tooks to you, you feel like a little kid in Kingergarten that's been caught fiddling with something. As we're walking to LUNCH Jodie says she has to give something to someone (a parcel I believe she said) and she hands this parcel to a short freakish demon whom she later explains is a Samonan transsexual called Miki.

We decided to grab something at Ciao Trattoria. We get there and Jodie is real health conscience. She's one of those that has a reason why they don't eat certain foods. She starts grabbing a Greek Salad and even inquires whether or not the green bell pepper and tomatoes used were fresh. "I just can't stand places that doesn't serve a good Greek Salad". She says as she turns toward me. Normally I'd be like "preppy bitch!" but you know what? This whore is so fscking hot I just laugh it off and offer "I know isn't that annoying?"
I decide to go for the Meathe Pasta Carbonara with fettucini, linguini, Italian bacon, green pepper and parmesan-romano. Jodie's eyes are sky blue and her skin is flawless. I thought about nothing but her during lunch. She smells good too. I wish I knew what perfume she was wearing.

Today I plan on going to a Portugese Restaurant because my girlfriend and I started aruging over which food is better- Spanish or Portuguese. I say Portugese and she defended Spanish food which I think is all made up of soups. I think I won because I had more to say, so I get to decide where to go for lunch. It's already 1pm so I'm running late. Will report back on a full stomach.

today i had a lunch meeting at a very nice place called radius in boston, which i normally love. unfortunately, i was there with a few clients and 2 of our partners, so i just had some gnocchi with some black truffles and wild mushrooms because i knew it wouldn't be weird/messy/distracting to eat. it was good, i think-lunch was the last thing i was thinking about.

I'm getting on a plane to Minneapolis soon, so all I had time for was a protein shake at Equinox Gym's juicebar. I was dead tired from dead lifts and thank goodness the was no line behind me because I was getting indecisive, but perked up when the guy behind the counter suggested I try a Vanilla Nut Blast.

OK I'll take the bait.

So Gia did you drop to your knees? And did he give you the Vanilla Nut Blast? Did you enjoy it?

Well, I ended up going to this hidden euro joint on the outskirts of LA called Cafe something or rather. They serve Portugese food there and it was well worth the trip. Anyhoo, I order the Bacalhau à Gomes de Sà which is codfish with potatoes, onion, hard cooked eggs, parsley and olives. My girlfriend ordered the Camarão com Molho de Alho which is prawns sautéed with garlic. I have to admit I prefered her food which I started fighting for- but she got all defense with the ol' "you're the one that wanted to come here in the first place."
To make myself feel better I order a Sagres Lager (supposedly Portugal's finest lager) which currently makes me feel like am blasting away the boundaries again.

C&O Cafe in Venice! Over-roasted chicken with potatoes and vegetables, with nice black and white photos of stereotypical Italians everywhere just in case the menu wasn't clear about the type of restauarant it is.

Today I went to lunch with Jordan Fleiss, Bishop, and Da Burglar. We went to a national steakhouse. I order a steak, baked potato, ceasar salad, sauteed (sp?) mushrooms and something called cranberry lemonade. The cranberry lemonade was so watered down that it tasted like friggin tapwater. My steak was a tad overcooked and baked potato was too damn hot. The sevice was kinda bad. We got our appetizers 10 minutes AFTER our lunch had been served. We also order some dessert at the begging that was so late in arriving that we cancelled it. Im never going there again. Its not worth it. Th name of the place, if anybody cares is Black Angus.

I have been there several times, I really like the place. I have had a lobster pasta there that I wanted to jerk off into. In fact, I did, and I am not allowed to go back.

Only had time for peanut butter and jelly. It had been years and I was craving it so it worked out well. I had green tea too, gotta put some lemon in it towards the bottom because it gets bitter *shudder*

Next time you have that urge, you should dip your balls into the mountains of ice they keep in the urinals. I never figured out why they do that.

I also work very nearby, so hypothetically you could PM next time you're in the area and I could meet you provided you bring Gia.

Roast beef sandwich from Subway for lunch...and the "more drinks than dinner" repast at the Depot Cantina, complete with:

margaritas carne asada margaritas margaritas chicken adobo margaritas margaritas margaritas

All with a riveting discussion of the Alaskan crab fishery.

jesus, and you didn't turn into cornholio taking as many OTC-stimulants as humanly possible? seriously, taking a shitload of pseudoephedrine and herbs=ephedrine HCL but chinese is fucking bad news.

tachycardia-city. the CNS-stimulation you're actually getting from that stuff comes at way too high a level of cardiovascular stimulation. meaning, you're bumping your vitals up for glorified coffee.

i can't deal with that shit, and i take 90mg of Rx speed a day.
