Today I had something called "Soul Food". I've heard this term before; three times actually. The first time was when a writer friend of mine from New Orleans introduced me to Southern Cuisine. She said "this is soul food, you outta try it out!" I did. The second time was from Nicole Ari Parker. She played Becky Barnett in Boogie Nights. Shes so hot. She appeared in a television show called Soul Food which was about family coming together during meal times and discussing and coming to terms with their problems. This tv show I didn't enjoy.
Anyway, the "Soul Food" i ate was prepared by an artist friend of mine. He's very strange, but droptone likes him. There was mashed potatoes, gravy, fried chicken so crispy and succulent, pork ribs so tender the meat was falling of the bone, fried catfish, shrimp, red beans, black eyed peas, mashers, collard greens and sweet corn on the cob. This was really sweet.
For drinks we only had a choice of Corona beers (requested because the gf prefers this light island beer), so I picked one of these and some water. We talked and talked then I said "Can I borrow your computer? I want to tell my friends what I'm eating because they like to hear that sort of stuff."
I'm going back downstairs in a few minutes; after I make sure nobody has replied to posts I've made since I logged on. Oh- and droptone ain't here. He wasn't invited.
