You should be able to buy banana peppers at any grocery store. At least I've never had a problem finding them. If that fails, try Whole Foods. They tend to have what others don't.

I bought a jar of supposedly medium level salsa the other day just because it was a locally made product. I didn't look at the ingredient list. The second ingredient listed is habaneros. I'll be shitting fireballs for a week.

I love habaneros. Endorphin rush for the win. Unfortunately, I'm getting old and if I eat them more than a couple times a month I shit blood.

I bought peppers at a local Food City earlier this week. Red Bell, passillia, [sp?] anaheim and banana. The banana has a little bit of heat but not much. This past weekend I went to a chili cook off in a nearby town to benefit the local chamber of commerce. A friends husband had some great elk chili but the real keeper was habanero chili by another dude. Plenty of heat but not inedible and an incredible peppery taste.

It's hard to find a good pickle on the commercial market. I can't stand Vlasic, Claussen, or Mt. Olive. Nathan's are the shit, but kind of pricey. Great Value makes a mean dill chip for burgers, but I've never tried any of their other varieties. I might have to take figgs up on his suggestion.

I had a friend who used to jar up his own sweet pickles using his grandma's recipe, and they were just amazing. I love homeade pickles regardless of type.

I guess "medium" is relative. I love hot with good flavor. Hot just for hot sake is boring.

Grilled up some sirloins last night, and am going to bust out some chicken breast tonight. The biggest problem is it leaves Mrs. Fartz inside to take care of the sides, which could have horrible ramifications.

While I was grilling the steaks, my other neighbor who is from Trinidad and is just about the coolest motherfucker I've ever met in my life came home and was super-stoked to see that I had the grill going on a cold November night. So stoked in fact, that he smoked a fat doobie with me, then used the grill for his own ribeyes and cleaned it out afterward. Life is good.

^^^Nice. It's a beautiful day here in NYC and I have the Marathon running past my place. If I'd known it was going to be this nice, I'd have bought some fillets and busted out the Weber grill. Instead, ima roast some lemongrass/coconut chicken. And spark up a fat doob.

Taken hibachi's are better than bought any day of the week. Sometimes a hibachi is the best grill ever invented.

No shit, dude on line at the store last night was talking about stuffed pork chops. Looks like it's get high and cook weekend all around.

i feel like grilling now but raining season just started here so looks like ill be waiting a bit.

I had pork and beans for lunch. Yesterday I soaked dried beans over night. This morning I put the beans and a ham bone I saved in the crock pot on high. Added some onion, spices and a little honey(but maple syrup works good too) after a couple hours and let it cook for another couple hours. Came out great. The ham that was still on the bone just fell off. Way better than stuff out of a can.

Smoked sausages and a cheeseburger from the grill. Small baked potato. Had some A1 on the burger and sprinkled seasoned salt, pepper, garlic, hot sauce and worsteschire [sp?] on the sausages before cooking.

Here's the recipe. It's actually one of the more simpler stuffed PC recipes out there. But it's good.

Here's what ya' need

*Two butterfly chops
*olive oil
*about 3/4 cup of fresh Spinach Leaves
*2-3 Granny Smith apples, peeled
*5-7 strips of thick-cut bacon
*2-3 shallots
* 1-2 cups shredded Jack cheese depending on how cheesey you want it.

*Chop up the shallots, dice the apples, chop up the Spinach, mix them together in a bowl and put it aside.

*Cook the bacon, then chop it and add it to the apple/shallot/Spinach mix.

*Drain the bacon pan, but leave 2-3 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan. Saute the apple/shallot/bacon mix in the remaining bacon grease until everything is slightly soft. Make sure the apples still have a slight crunch, as the oven will take care of softening them up thoroughly.

*When that's ready to go, dump the cheese in and stir it around until it melts and everything is nice and binded.

*Seperate the mix in half.

*Stuff as much as that shit as you can in each pork chop. Fold over, and toothpick those fuckers.

*Drizzle olive oil and whatever seasoning you wish on the tops of the chops. I use Sweet Basil and crushed Sea Salt.

*Bake those fuckers at about 350 until internal temp reaches 164-170.

*Enjoy.

The original recipe called for Fontina cheese, but I aint spending nine fucking dollars on a little wedge of cheese. Jack works perfectly for about a a fourth of the price. If your one of those rich mens, go ahead and bust out the fontina and tell me how it was.

I added the spinach to the recipe. It doesn't do much more than add color and help the rich mixture digest a little easier.

Between the shallots, spinach, and apples, these chops will give you THE FARTZ.

I had Chinese today. Hot and Sour Soup, egg roll, fried rice, bourbon chicken and mongolian chicken.

It was a particularly hot and dry summer here. We had a burn ban on that was only lifted about two weeks ago. Last Friday it was seventy degrees so I bought two pounds of ground round and grilled/smoked eight 1/4 lbs burgers over charcoal and pecan wood. I also sliced two onions and grilled/smoked the slices with the burgers. Then I froze them. Today I brought one for lunch and heated it up in the microwave at work. The smell was amazing and filled the entire room. I had the burger on a kaiser roll with tomatoes, dill pickle slices, a slice of sharp cheddar, the smoked onions, lettuce, and yellow mustard. I also had a glass of fresh brewed unsweetened ice tea to wash it down with.

Now that sounds fucking amazing!

Pepper Jack instead of Cheddar and I'm down.

Wow I grilled burgers and hot dogs today too. 35 degrees and spitting snow aside !

Weather has never discouraged me from the grill.

Outside temperature doesn't effect my grilling, but a burn ban sure does. The grass was as quick to ignite as gasoline this summer.

Haven't been to the grocery store yet but I decided to scrounge some lunch at home anyway. I opened the refrigerator and I took out some tortillas and the remains of a block of Jack cheese. I sliced the cheese thin, heated up a skillet, and prepared to make some simple quesadillas.

When I was in the frig I noticed I had a little mojo de ajo left, I make it to put on seafood. I said what the hell and drizzled a little of the oil on the cheese, before folding it over, and also put some of the garlic pieces on there as well. It's now going to be a standard ingredient when I fix quesadillas in the future.
