I had to venture out during my feature dance stay in the dumpshack food-lacking town of Selma, NC. My friend W, from LA, drove up from his other house in a nearby town. We packed up and headed 2 hours east towards the Trent River where we ended up in beautiful historical New Bern.

En route, we stopped at a gas station where I bought a bottle of Deer Park water, answered the Crackberry, and fwd'd an email at the register. People gathered from all around and asked what kind of device that was.

New Bern was the original capitol of N. Carolina and the birthplace of Pepsi. Did you know that Pepsi was called 'Brad's Drink' and was invented by an md to cure dispepsia aka indigestion?

Down the street from the first Pepsi store ever was an antique shop and our lunch at Morgan's Tavern and Grill. By far the best restaurant in New Bern, Morgan's has vaulted wood ceilings, a veranda, and a banquet hall. W drank a black+tan and ordered the Mango Grilled Grouper. I had the cold lump crab salad with a heavenly cilantro dijon dressing with a side of cinnamin apples. Since we were spitting distance to the Atlantic Ocean, the seafood was fresh and amazing.
