Yesterday I decided that I would write Chloroman an e-mail and see if would be interested in meeting me for lunch. To my delight he agree and in fact he lives in Reseda, not far from me, so we met up a California Pizza Kitchen in Tarzana.

It took me a a while to find my car keys, I am always misplacing them, so by the time I arrived Chloroman had already been seated. He had taken the liberty of ordering us the California Shrimp Cocktail, which I must say was an excellent choice. It featured shrimp and avocado tossed in an excellent cocktail sauce. He commented that it was a new addition to the CPK menu and we both agreed that we hope they decide to make it a permanently avalable selection.

While we ate our shrimp cocktail we chatted about work and such. He told me things are going well at his job and that he recieved an excellent quarterly evaluation and expects to be promoted soon. I was happy for him.

I was impressed by the quick service at CPK as only about 10 mintues or so after we ordered, our entrees arrived at the table. In the mood for something spicy, I decided I would give the Jambalaya a try. It's nice to know you can still enjoy the cajun tastes of New Orleans even though the city was washed off the map by the hand of God. It was excellent and I must say the Sausage and Chicken were particularly juicy and succulent.

Chloroman had the Thai Chicken Pizza. He says that he often enjoys "Fusion" cuisine as he likes to experience the way flavors from different cultures combine in oftentimes unexpected ways. In this particular case he loved the interaction between the cilantro and the spicy peanaut-ginger sauce. I must say I envied his choice.

All being said, it was a quite enjoyable lunch and I enjoyed meeting up with Chloroman for a nice wholesome dining experience. At the end we bid eachother farewell and agreed to meet up for lunch again soon. Both Chili's and Islands were mentioned as possible venues, but we'll have to see what happens.
