Team needs for the Dallas Cowboys... FS-starter OLB- help for D.Ware on the other side OL-back up/rotation guy DT-rotation with Ferguson in the 3-4 TE-blocking TE QB- time to push Romo and Henson WR-3rd string All first day picks should be starters or must contribute during their first year. With that said Dallas needs to find a starter at FS, OLB and spot player at OG/RT. I'll name 3 players for every round. First player being my top choice.. Round 1) #18 K. Wimbley-OLB D. Whitner-FS B. Carpenter-OLB Round 2) #49 P. Watkins-FS T. Lutui-OL G. Watson-DT Round 3) #80 M. Gilles-OL O. Jacobs-QB M. Stovall-WR fire up ESPN, NFL Network, ESPNU and 1310AM- The Ticket(Dallas sports radio station). It's draft time!!!

Don't let BP (aka, the New Jersey con man) fool you. He had his chance to kill that deal. He's on board with it.
Let me tell you. I'm a big Cowboy fan. I've owned season tickets for 10 years. I actually had tickets while I lived in Miami.
I would fly to Dallas twice a year to see two home games. NFL Sunday Ticket for the rest. I finally moved to Dallas in 1999.
With all that said I hear a lot of so called "Die hard" fans saying that they're not going to pull for Big D this year because of the TO signing.
Man, that shit is trill. I don't love TO and I was there when he went ape shit on the Cowboys defense. But you're supposed to be fan of the team. Players come and go.
My take is like when your brother/sister are about to marry some kat that you really don't dig. But what are you going to do. They're family now. Til death or divorce due them part. You don't have to like it, but what's done is done.
Do you think that Jerry Jones cares if I don't renew my season tickets because of TO. Plus why would I want to do that to myself.
Cowboys and Porn.... 2 the hard way!

Terry Glenn is a solid #2 WR. Best hands on the team. Often injured though. I love Ohio State, so I'm not going to bad mouth any Buckeyes.

The Cowboys look pretty decent. If they can protect Bledsoe, and run it a bit, they should be sound. Ya'll got a Monday nighter against Philly. Should be interesting.
Im just really pissed right now at how the Titans are treating McNair. That's fucking sad.
Im up here in Wisconsin, and everyone is hanging on Favre's word. No, Im not a big Packer fan, but wish Favre the best and wish he'd make up his mind already. They have alot at stake in this years draft.

I'm not a 'Boys fan at all for I've found too many Texans to be insufferable jackasses, but I digress. I certainly respect the fans love for their team, and as much as I also dislike T.O. personally, the 'Boys win total will increase 2 or 3 games just from him being there. Both he and Glenn were on my (XPT League Champion ) fantasy team last year, and I expect they will be a potent combo.
Does anyone have an opinion they want to share on Vince Young? I heard a prognosticator on ESPN radio this morning placing him with the Cardinals at the 10th pick. Being on the Cardinals is bad enough, I won't go there, but I don't think there's so much of a place anymore for the "highly mobile" quarterback in the NFL due to the increased speed and size of defenses these days and the destructive hits they can lay on an unprotected QB in the open field. If it isn't an actual flesh and bone wound, anymore its likely to be a concussion that equalizes the threat of a running QB. That said, Vince Young certainly has what it takes to stick somewhere in the NFL, likely at WR like Matt Jones last year or Kordell Stewart before he got uppity and demanded to be a shitty QB. I'm not the first guy to say it, that just happens to be my 2 cents.
Edit to add: It just ain't right what's happened to McNair, but I can empathize with management on the matter as far as liability is concerned, thats just the way it is.

Young made me a believer when he beat the Buckeyes this past year. I don't know if he's worth the 10 pick. He is a top 3 QB in this class. He's throws better then some of the guys who are playing Qb right now. McNabb, Aaron Brooks and Chris Sims come to mind.
People talk about his delivery. But does anybody remember the name of the QB that lead the Hurricanes to a national title, played in the NFL for 10+ years and help Dallas in a playoff win on their way to the SuperBowl.
BERNIE..BERNIE.
Now, I'm not saying that he's got the Football smarts that Bernie had. But he's delivery is just as side arm as his. Omar Jacobs (College), Phillip Rivers and Jake Plummer all have funny side arm releases.
And Young is more athletic. I think Young will be better then a lot of people give him credit. We'll just have to wait and see.
Once my Mel Kiper and Ourladds draft guides get here, I'll be able to really see what the scouts are saying about a lot of these kids.
btw, I heard Wimbley on the NFL radio network saying that the Cowboys want him in for a private work.
YES!!!!!!!!!!

parcells won his super bowls with defenses that could shut down the k-gun and thurman and befuddling elway. the offenses just needed to score some to win.
let's look at the guy in the decade after belicheck wasn't there to take some really-good offenses out of the game including getting there over montana and the 49ers at their best.
he's a pretty-good coach, a guy who can get you from lousy to 8-8 in a few years with some vets. problem is he can't do much more than that in his solo-era then he eventually bails and starts again because a head coach can basically scare a pro team for a few years, make them competitive. that's not winning a super bowl.
the guy's just a screamer who does press-releases without having the guy who was obviously doing some of the best pure coaching football's seen since bill walsh. it's pretty obvious belicheck was the difference between him never getting to a super bowl in the first place like most coaches and probably wouldn't have managed to stay a head coach forever as a .500 and change coach like he's been the last decade.

*Updated Mock Draft from NFL Draft Blitz*
First Round
1)Texans-Bush-RB 2)Saints-Ferguson-OL 3)Titans-Leinart-QB 4)Jets-Williams-DE 5)Packers-Hawk-OLB 6)49ers-Huff-CB/S 7)Raiders-Davis-TE 8)Bills-Justice-OL 9)Lions- Ngata-DT 10)Cardinals-Young-QB 11)Rams-Hill-CB 12)Browns-Lawson-DE/OLB 13)Ravens-Bunkley-DT 14)Eagles-Greenway-OLB 15)Broncos-M. Willams-RB 16)Dolphins-J. Willams-S/CB 17)Vikings-Cutler-QB 18)Dallas Cowboys-Whitner-S-Ohio State 19)Chargers-Jackson-WR 20)Chiefs-Joseph-CB 21)Pats-Sims-OLB 22)Broncos-Holmes-WR 23)Bucs-Carpenter-LB 24)Bengals-Simpson-S 25)Giants-Ryans-OLB 26)Bears-Pope-TE 27)Panters-White-RB 28)Jags-Hali-DE 29)Jets-Maroney-RB 30)Colts-Addai-RB 31)Seahawks-Kiwanuka-DE 32)Steelers-Allen-FS
A couple of things jump out at me on this mock.
First, Denver never drafts RB's in the first round. Their coach believes more in the system then talent. I don't think the Broncos will waste a 1RD pick on a RB.
Next, I just don't see the Cowboys drafting a Safety in the firts round. We've got to much money tied up in Willams, Newman and Henry. All CB's and FS's.
Last, IMO Addai-RB is not a first round pick. But I see they're saying the Colts need a RB. If the Jets take Maroney off the board. They assume the Colts will REACH and take Addai in the first RD. He's 2nd Rd talent all the way.

*Updated Mock Draft NFL Draft Countdown* First Round 1)Texans-Bush 2)Saints-Williams-DE 3)Titans-Leinart-QB 4)Jets-Ferguson-OL 5)Packers-Hawk-OLB 6)49ers-Davis-TE 7)Raiders-Young-QB 8)Bills-Justice-OL 9)Lions-Huff-CB/S 10)Cardinals-Cutler-QB 11)Rams-Hill-CB 12)Browns-Ngata-DT 13)Ravens-Bunkley-DT 14)Eagles-Greenway-OLB 15)Broncos-Jackson-WR 16)Dolphins-Allen-S 17)Vikings-Sims-OLB 18)Dallas Cowboys-Whitner-S-Ohio State 19)Chargers-Holmes-WR 20)Chiefs-Joseph-CB 21)Pats-Marshall-CB 22)Broncos-M.Williams-RB 23)Bucs-J.Williams-CB/F 24)Bengals-Wimbley-DE/OLB 25)Giants-Watson-DT 26)Bears-Jennings-CB 27)Panthers-Ryans-OLB 28)Jags-Howard-OLB 29)Jets-Carpenter-OLB 30)Colts-Maroney-RB 31)Seahawks-Cromartie-CB 32)Steelers-White-RB Again, this mock has Dallas taking Whitner with the 18th pick and Denver taking a RB in the 1st RD. Man, I still don't get it. It also looks like they're saying there's going to be a run on OLB's at the end of the Round one. I'll post Mel Kiper's projection once my Draft Guides is delivered.

Well since the Fins need help in numerous areas, I guess any pick of quality will do for them. I just hope Dante is better than he looked last year.

*NFL Draft update*
The Denver Broncos just traded their second 1st round draft pick #22 to the 49ers. In exchange the 49ers give to Denver their 37th pick (2nd Rd) and the 68th pick (3rd Rd).
The Jets and 49ers both have two 1st Rd picks in the Draft.
btw, Dallas just signed Marcus Coleman (FS) to a 1 year. I think this means OLB with the 18th pick....

Rumor has it that the Cowboys are interested in Michael Huff.....any chance they swap places with the Bills at #8? What do you give up to move up 10 spots? #18 and your 2nd are a given but I think the Bills would want more....

Not interested...way to costly for a FS/CB. The Cowboys are still 2-3 players away from being a dominate Defense. Plus they just signed Marcus Coleman (FS) to a one year deal. Look for them to go with the BPA at pick #18 or move down into the 20's. We'll see.
I can't wait

Cleetus, I've watched a ton of Draft shows this week and my Sirius radio is locked on Channel 124 (NFL Radio). I keep hearing S/CB...Maybe Whitner from Ohio State or even another OLB to play in that 3-4 Simms...
Chico, the experts (not me) think the Steel Curtain will take a RB or WR. Maybe Moss from UM or the big RB from USC.

The only thing that sucks about winning the Super Bowl is we get the last pick. Most of the top picks are taken. Then again, there is always a hidden gem now and then who can make an impact.
Yep, I'll post Kiper's and Ourladds Draft projections for the Steelers on Wednesday. I still think another 1-2 trades may go down before Wednesday.
Watch for Green Bay to unload J. Walker for a 2nd or 3rd pick... Denver is trying to move their WR too.
I just hope that Wimbley, Lawson or Carpenter are there when the Cowboys pick in the 1st rd.

Yeah, when I started posting on October I saw that XPT had a league. You might think this is stupid of me ...but I'm such a bleeding heart Cowboys fan. That I hate to pick against them. My entire team would be made up of Cowboy players. Which would guarantee a losing season. Plus, lets say the Cowboys win, and some players on the fantasy team don't produce. Now that fucks with my happiness of the Cowboys victory. See, it kinda wild. That's why I never gamble on the Cowboys as well. You're talking about a guy that left Miami in 99 and moved to Dallas just so I can see all their games live. Pretty weak huh... Plus I also watch 5-10 College Football games each weekend (Tivo). I'm a huge Ohio State Fan. (born in Toledo, OH) I doubt that I'll be in the Fantasy League... btw, it's pretty quiet so far. I thought there would be more trades a day before the Draft. I've got no new ifo. NFL raido, ESPN raido, local Sports radio in Dallas...NOTHING

WTF does that mean?
That would be you if you picked an entire fantasy team of Steelers.
Their WR's dont get much action.
Their new RB hasn't had to carry the load yet.
The QB only throws the ball 13-15 times a game
Your Defense is set...and I'm not sure if you'd want their PK
All that said you are the XPT champ... and this is coming from a guy that doesn't play FF.

This is gonna be the most interesting draft in NFL history...the media has spent so much time hyping this up, more so than in the past.
Im here in Wis., while not a big Packer fan, I cant help but be curious. AJ Hawk is the consensus, and I like the cat, but they have some other glaring needs. Now that Favre came back,(and I dont know why), and they signed the oft injured Woodson...they need an offensive line...badly!!!...Favre will go the way of Young and Aikman if they are not careful. He is a concusion waiting to happen. What will they get for Walker???...he's as good as gone(traded)...When I think about the Packers, I just throw my hands up in frustration.
My teams are the Titans and Raiders. Love McNair, and love the Raiders, just because they are the Raiders.

AJ Hawk is the truth...and Ohio State has a freshman by the name of Homan...He's AJ's love child at the MLB spot. I think Green Bay wants a 2nd rd pick for Walker. I heard Denver offered Ashley and a 2nd rd but the Packers said no.....
FYI... there's a big name OL from Wisconsin (Olgesby). Ohio State is recruiting him super hard...so is Touch Down Jesus. I think in the end he'll stay home and play for the Badgers...

Sorry B, no pretense, I'm not anyone you'd know apart from here. I was only subtly asserting my presence among the crowd, as I am wont to do when the conversation includes XPT fantasy football. Just grinding salt is all, there are wounds here that haven't yet healed.

Listen to the boos in NYC as the THIRD BUCKEYE goes off the board. The Dallas Cowboys select OLB B. Carpenter with the #18 pick. Seeing as I'm a Dallas Cowboy & Buckeye fan. This is all gravy.

In a way I'm kinda surprised Leinart didn't get picked first. If he didn't get picked by the 10th overal to Arizona then he wouldn't have been screwed. I wonder what he's thinking... if money matters that much to him if in a way he's beating himself up for not joining the NFL last year instead where he would have been number one pick...?

The first day is over and I'm not sure what the hell the Cowboys did.. I'm cool with the first 2 picks...but I think our 3rd rd pick was a reach. I wish they wouldn't drafted a Safety.
Anyway, they got their 4th rounder back. The also got another 6th and another 7th.
That leaves them with 7 picks on day two.
Good night Football fans.....

I was at the draft at radiocity yesterday with a few of my boys, it was a good time. WE got up at like 4am and went over to get tickets, and there were already plenty of people there. My best celebrity moment, I was sitting down at the orchastra level where all the espn and nfl comp seats were, listening to the free fm walkman they gave everyone that you could use to hear the nfl network or espn coverage, and I get tapped on the shoulder. I think it is some security or something coming to bust my balls for sitting in someone elses seat so I shrug my shoulders and half way glance and give this giant black guy my fuck you smirk without really looking at him. I then notice all my friends looking up like holy shit. I look again and it is michael irvin looking at me and like, are you gonna get up so I can walk by and talk to you guys for a second about the jets. It was pretty funny. We made it on camera a bunch of times, and had every network and film camera on us when the saints went ahead and picked Bush, everyone in the place was possitive we were going to end up trading up and getting him, and the word I got from reporters there was that bush really wanted to be a jet and we tried very hard to get him.

Tuna, that's great. I meet Irving two years ago at concert in Dallas. He was backstage and I took him to meet Gerald Levert. I love the Play Maker (pre-drug use)..
Anyway, Cowboys select S. Green WR/KR LSU. I like this pick. Feels a need for PR/KR. Quick, with a sudden burst. Maybe a 4th or 5th WR. ..Maybe.....
The Cowboys have 5 picks left.....

Cowboys just moved up in the 5th round to select P. Watkins FS. Another good pick. He's 6'4 not a big hitter but he is a ball hawk. I guess that means S. Moss want be going deep on Dallas with 1:00 left in the 4th Qtr... If anyones counting, that's 9 players taken from The Ohio State University..

Ok, I on 13+ hours of watching and listening to the NFL Draft. It's almost over. Here are two commical quotes from the Draft thus far.... M. Stanley DT Louisville Dallas Cowboys 6th Rd pick #182. When asked about playing NT and what he does well he said, "I like to talk dirty to the Quarterback" Brian Baldinger Fox Sports after the Falcons drafted WR A. Jennings in the 6th Rd He said, "Great, another Wide Receiver for Michael Vick to Miss"

The Titans did VERY well. It's gonna be McNair/George part II. The Jets not taking Leinhart really surprised me. They must know something others dont. Thought the Raiders might grab him, they cant be serious with Aaron Brooks at QB.

Usually you can look at the oddball choices and figure it out based on what the team actually needs. But not this time.
What Houston needs is a way to keep the QB vertical. Bush would help by distracting defenses. Or maybe a lineman. Or something. It's not all, or even mostly, Carr. A good defender won't help Carr play any better on his back.
New Orleans already has a running back. Aren't there other problems on that team?
Tennessee needs a QB, but doesn't Young look like the second coming of Michael Vick?
Maybe the Jets do know something, but Pennington seems done to me - why not Leinart?
I don't know most of the teams that well but it wasn't until Arizona at 10 that I thought I saw a pick that was obviously right.
