I'd put him first on the list for culling just because of the cheesy visual.

yeah, even if it went airbourne... most diseases that kill quickly, obviously spread poorly. if you kill and or incapacitate the being you infect before it gets to spread...it is only effective in small scale. Very few diseases are good spreaders and killers, usually it is a trade off of one for another. Now if it had a longer incubation period, and the infected was contaigous during this period, much like some strains of smallpox, it would then be viable and probably a pestilence of apocalyptic importance.
