A prior editor would occasionally drop a "stripper" identifier on a set because he hadn't used it in a few issues. That seemed stupid and lazy to me.
You're the first person to confirm my suspicion that we were actually misleading readers at times. We try hard not to make up shit in the great jackrag tradition of making up shit; the letters are real, the pertinent facts are real, and we don't fictionalize if we don't absolutely have to. (We might have to concoct copy for a really raunchy set featuring European unknowns, but we make sure we don't arbitrarily fake names.)
Anyway, I did this in an attempt to not mislead. I hope a lot of readers don't want them back...

Charlie, here's an idea. I know that you've got Smut doing your reviews..and his shit is boss. Have you ever thought of doing a fan pick of the month?
NOT a review but just the DVD title or box cover. I see all the letters that fans write to Jill Kelly. Do they ever mention what movies they're watching?
Readers can email you their titles and you pick 1-2 emails each month. Again, the fan pick doesn't need to be a DVD review.
Just a thought

That's a great idea Big Calm. Problem is, most (but not all) of our readers tend to find out about a given dvd months and months after we've received review copies. Plus, unavoidable production delays make most reader suggestions really dated by the time we receive them in the mail. BUT, let's try it out. We're putting together Smut's column now. If you send me your pick of the month and a sentence or two about why you like it, I'll include it in the review section and ask readers to send in their picks in the future. Let me know how you want to be credited (name, town, etc.). Also keep in mind that we don't cover releases by competition magazines. You can send it to charlie@foxmagazine.com. Other members can send in their picks too, and that includes all you porn stars (Gia? Gia?: I think you'd be a fine reviewer.) Anyway Calm, thanks for being into it. RENFIELD: Got your message, but you don't allow return private messages. Belladonna has the cover of the June issue, which includes a "Fox of the Month" centerfold set by the great Dave Naz and a brand-new Q&A done just a few days ago.

Charlie, I think I was misunderstood. The fan pick doesn't have to be something current. That's why you've got Smut and your other writers. They're going to review current titles that are 1-3 months old (or months new).
If you ask a Porn fan off the streets what are you watching they might say Ass Clowns(2-3 year old).That's what will make the fan pick different. One month so lucky fan can tell the world (Fox world) what his favorite movie is. Be it Deep Throat or Ass Worship 4. Good porn, like music should be timeless. Also this way it doesn't up stage the Fox reviews.
Does this make sense? I'm not a very good typer/writer but I'm trying to explain myself. But I also see what the restrictions are on your side too.
again, just a thought.....

Yes, Ceara is doing porn star Q&As. Her debut is in the July issue. She asks Ashley Blue some crazy-ass questions, and gets some crazier-ass answers, most of which we couldn't publish for legal reasons. Ashley's second column is also in this issue (her debut column is in May, with Hillary Scott on the cover. On newsstands 4/18.)
