The man, "King of the Delta Blues", Robert Johnson. I've been working on my fingerpickin' technique with help from his "Complete Works" on tablature.

Has it been working? I swear, tablature fucked me up for a long time because I got too comfortable using it. Now its all by ear.

Well, I've heard that when latter day greats like Eric Clapton and Keith Richards first heard Robert Johnson, they assumed there were 2 guitars on the track simultaneously, when in fact R.J. could play the bassline with his thumb(in rhythm) and pluck a second part independently with his fingers. Not many can pull this off, Hendrix could for instance. I too learn mostly by ear. I'm good, but I'm no Hendrix, so tablature it is. I have dicked around with "Kind Hearted Woman" for 5 years now, ONE SONG, and have only just recently begun to put it together. I'll quit jacking this thread now, but anytime someone wants to start one on music appreciation, count me in.
