There was a "Pussycat" theater in San Diego(National City) right across from a club I used to go to when I was in the Navy, looking for WestPac Widows. Anyways the Nasty City errrrr National CIty council wanted it torn down to put up something nice, cause it was kind of an eye soar. Whoever owned it wouldn't sell, so the city kept upping the ante. Finally they sold at $1.5 million, you wouldn't believe how small the plot of land it sat on was. The land itself was worth maybe $250K, at most.
