This is the last straw, for as long as I can remember the Motion Picture Association of my beloved Mexico has butchered Movie titles non-stop, often trying to vaguely hint what the movie is about when they don´t know the true meaning of some expressions or phrases...I just went to see Walk the Line(great movie by the way, Phoenix can sing), the title was

"Johnnie & June: Passion & Madness", I mean when you finish seeing the movie you are very aware that there´s your share of passion and your share of madness, but to point it out in such a flagrant way is just fucking insulting.

Less is better, I mean if someone just doesn´t understand the context of the title maybe that person is just better of watching other movies...the thing I really don´t like is the patronizing of the audience in general, nothing new here, but still agravating. Don´t tell me what you think the movie is about or what it´s trying to say (that´s the basis of most translations). Take for example Adaptation(Spike Jonze), they named it "Wild Orchid", please tell me what the fuck is that, I mean its so not about orchids..it is, but that´s the least important thing in the movie, the orchids are just a medium(lack of a better word) to tell a story.

loopnode: What about "The Big Lebowski"...Homeless kidnapping, that shit is so lame, to me TBL is one of the finest films I have ever seen, one of my top 5...If I were a Cohen brother and found out my movie is showing under the name Homeless Kidnapping my head would explode like the guy in Cronenberg´s Scanners. There´s so much to TBL, I mean the comedy is great but its just one of many things I love about that movie.

Doroteo: Joel is so laid back I don't know whether he would mind or just laugh... QT I know is used to it. There was some Thai film that ripped off 'Violent Times' scene for scene and in some cases 'word for word'. He blows a fuse but eventually he talks himself back to reality.
Still- don't complain man... ever watched Tu E Nadie? Complain about the fact nobody has watched it.

jeff: don´t get me started on porn titles, although they´re more accurate than mainstream ones...as far as porn goes when you hear the movie titles in spanish they don´t have the same kind of pizaz that the english ones have.
