Let's get one thing straight: I listen to metal, classical, and Rush exclusively. However, way back in grade 5 (1988?), I was a typical white suburban middle-class rap fan. The last few days, however, I've been revisiting my old rap records, such as:
Public Enemy- It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back NWA- Straight Outta Compton Geto Boys- Grip It! On Tha' Other Level Erik B. And Rakim- Follow The Leader
Fucking good stuff actually. Anyone else like the old school stuff?

I remember this one really fucking well. Here's some lyrics from "Mind of a Lunatic":
[ VERSE 2: Bushwick Bill ] Lookin through her window, now my body is warm She's naked, and I'm a peepin tom Her body's beautiful, so I'm thinkin rape Shouldn't have had her curtains open, so that's her fate Leavin out her house, grabbed the bitch by her mouth Drug her back in, slammed her down on the couch Whipped out my knife, said, "If you scream, I'm cuttin" Opened her legs and commenced the fuckin She begged me not to kill her, I gave her a rose Then slit her throat, and watched her shake till her eyes closed Had sex with the corpse before I left her And drew my name on the wall like helter skelter Run for shelter never crossed my mind I had a guage, a grenade, and even a nine Dial 911 for the bitch But the cops ain't shit when they're fuckin with a lunatic
I'm strongly against rape, necrophelia, and writing things in your victim's blood, but since Bushwick Bill is a midget who's been shot in the eye...what the hell.

I've long owned these two albums which are in my opinion, flat-out classics. GTA San Andreas actually had a great rap segment of its soundtrack which has sparked my own recent revival of the old school. I'm sure you can get a shitload of other recommendations in here if that is what you want. How's the ROK?

I bought a Geto Boyz (sp?) album once that had a picture of Bushwick Bill on it after he had been shot in the eye by his "old lady." He's talking on his walkie-talkie sized cell phone, and Willie D.and the rest of the group is wheeling his gurney into the emergency room or something. That is hardcore, disturbing shit for a suburban kid to see and my possessing it at the time only proved how "down" I was for a white boy. You know Bill was like, "Oh, shit, Willie. I just lost an eye but we got us an album cover. Bring a camera."

lol, that's partially what did it for me too!
The ROK is fucking awesome, WAY fucking better and infinately times more civilized than China. I went to Japan for two days to get my working visa and that country is THE fucking best. If the money situation there was the same as it is for me here, I'd move there in a second.

You can't mention BDP with out saying Just-Ice. He was KRS One's Robin.
and Ultramagnetic MC's were my shit. "Mc Ultra..Magnetic Magnetic" Which spawned Kool Keith aka Spank Master aka Dr Octagon aka Dr Doom aka Black Elvis aka Mathew aka..I give up. Although his music is featured in the Dodge commerical
What about De La Soul. The first time I heard the "Potholes in my lawn" I fucking lost it and the B-Side had "Jennifer of Jenni". I know this isn't old school but Souls of Mischief ....93 til infinity. ...anybody...

You know what I found the other day? Liquid Swords by GZA the instrumental Vinyl. Dusty and still dirty.

As long as we're on this topic, I've had no luck in finding a few of the GTA: San Andreas songs on MP3. I've looked so far on I-Tunes, and MP3Search.Ru with no luck.
Spoonie G: The Godfather
Masta Ace: Me & the Biz
Big Daddy Kane: Warm it up Kane
Biz Markie: The Vapors
Holla!
