I've noticed Malice, and even Jeff have been quiet about this incident. I have no inside or backchannel knowledge, but I suspect it's because they know this or something similar could happen here. In fact, something similar did happen here about a year ago, and it was rectified without any loss of life. Without some cooperation from "that other site" it might never have been corrected.



No, I can see where you are coming from...as I said before in my post, I took no sides in the ADT/XPT battle whatsoever, and had no interest in it either. However, that was before Drew responded to a perfectly legitimate complaint by calling me an asshole. I didn't respond in kind, nor up the ante by calling him a fucking asshole, but rather admitted and apologised for a mistake I had made. He then comes back with a condescending response.

If I may contrast the above with an experience I had with JM Productions, the evil whore degrading bad boys of the industry? I recently tried to watch a volume of Gag Factor via JM's VOD service. I checked all the conditions, saw that my system met or exceeded them, and paid up. Then I get a pop up window telling me I need to upgrade to a newer version of DivX to view the movie, so I download the upgrade and go to install it...it won't do it, because DivX no longer supports the operating system my computer runs. So I'm fucked.

I email JM with my complaint. I get a prompt, courteous and apologetic (even though I believe the fault lies with DivX on this one) reply from Tony Malice, and a full refund too. No condescension, no one calling me 'asshole'. The net result of this little exchange? I join GagFactor.com instead, meaning Jeff got $29.95 out of me rather than $9.95 (Yes, I know he doesn't get the full amount, but you get the picture).

Oh, and having watched the Aurora Snow and Cherry Poppins scenes that CAOH is so enamoured of, let me just say... !

I don't have any particular axe to grind with ADT (I've never had any contact or run-ins with Steph, for example), but I'll be damned if I'm putting any money in Drew Black's pocket. Maybe you are correct in saying the same thing could happen at XPT, but if it did, I think the response would be markedly different. Jeff seems enough of a straight-talker to be able to put his hand up and say 'We fucked up, we're sorry', which is something that can't be said of Drew. I'm not 100% surprised at the hostility Willie D got, because I suspect he has previous form over on ADT, but I don't, therefore I was somewhat taken aback by Drew's response to my complaint.

I also concur with your sentiments that it's not do or die, life or death, either/or...it's just that XPT is the polar opposite of ADT. I had no interest in picking one or the other (I was quite happy using both), but that was before my little interaction with Drew. I'll still be using other boards, but ADT can go fuck themselves as far as I'm concerned.
