Some doll fetishists actually buy officially licensed dolls and then proceed to cutomise them for their personnal fetish-oriented activities. You don't need to look far; Ebay has sellers who have lingerie and underwear (for example) for the dolls, for those wishing to complete the illusion of their fetish.

Other folks do complete makeovers on their dolls, re-rooting hair, modifying body parts, and designing their own clothing(s) and accessories.

With all of that I keep wondering to myself why a company wouldn't cash in in such a marketable albeit weird fetish is still a mystery, but then again, most fetishists (of ANY fetish) are largely still closet-ed and don't necessarly wish to share their more particular or specific "needs" per se.
