First off let me make it clear I am choosing no sides in Ryan v Hav2.
Ryan's banning seemed quite...sudden and seemed to take place in the course of an irratating and wide-ranging but relatively milk-toast flamewar.So please help me understand,did ryan ignore past warnings I am unaware of?Blow through some xxxpt stopsign?Was it the sensitive nature of his final thread or what?
Most times I can see it comming but this time I still don't get it.

No you may argue the details but the fact remains that unless there was some other activities that took place(which no one is copping to)then this kid got banned for what happens around here everyday.That would be bullshit,and this would be my final post.Catch you on set gen

I too was a little disturbed by this at first, because I agree it was a 50/50 thing and from that perspective any "punishment" should be equal. But when you look at it from the point of view of someone trying to maintain order on this board, it makes more sense. It's not about taking sides, it's about protecting the board from being overwhelmed with bickering junk posts. People are put in the penalty box for a short period of time with the promise from the outset that they will be allowed back. It's really just the enforcement of a cooling off period. Now who needed to cool off here?
Hav2cit is an anonymous poster on a message board who is merely toying with Ryan's hot buttons for fun. I highly doubt his blood pressure jumped a single point through the whole exchange. If Hav2cit had been put in the box, you can bet others would have taken his place taunting Ryan and the problem would continue. On the other hand, without Ryan biting his hook, Hav2cit does not present a problem.
Ryan, on the other hand, has a real identity with a reputation that he wants to defend. Unfortunately, he seems to lack judgement when dealing with shit-talking on message boards. He clearly needs to reflect on when not to take the bait. Maybe a few days in the box will help him do this.

The penalty box for Ryan surprised me too. It just seemed like Have2 was handing Ryan his ass, as usual, and then wham in the box. The only thing I can think of is that is was spanning multiple threads.

I have to say that I totally agree with Bishop on this. How can Ryan be banned and Smartt, Ben, Renfield, etc etc, still post wih impunity. He should be allowed to defend himself, Particularly when the attacks against Ryan are effectively "don't hire him, he has performance problems" which has a real affect on his ability (or inability) to support himself. Don't get me wrong, his posts were lame, but if you got banned for being lame, Pris would have been run a month ago (not only because it's a fake account).
