It would appear that there are two possibilities:
1. She's just lazy, and given the size of the Venetian, she'd rather not walk in those silly shoes; or
2. She was actually a paraplegic before the life-giving medicine that is Max's urine cured her. That's why she needs to drink so much of it - in case it didn't 'take'.
