You laugh, but there is a whole field of criminology now devoted to "women who rape," particularly female pedophiles. Not surprisingly, the talking heads at the forefront of this growth industry are feminist academics who identify a profound psychological difference between Chester Molester offering little girls lollipops with his penis as the stem and Chelsea Molester offering little boys (or girls) PS2 CDs inside God's own clamshell. Because evil male pedophiles just use children and crush them when they're done with them, and female pedophiles supposedly want to "nurture." It's a sick business and I have no idea how they put that on their CV:
"I spent the last 10 years testifying as an expert witness for a hefty fee on behalf of pedophiles."
You're hired!
Males dominate every rank of sex offender you can imagine, but the numbers come closest to parity, strangely, in the case of child murder (which in many states also includes registration as a condition of probation).
There hasn't yet been a backlash against this trend, but suffice to say that women offenders in just about every class of felony receive on the whole lighter sentences than men with comparable criminal records. Prosecutors don't like to deal with them either. In cases with two or more defendants, the women almost invariably receive less time, and the men are more often considered "ringleaders" who "led them astray." It's the old magdalen complex.
