so I'm having a ketel and my drink smells odd. yes odd. I think its from my ice maker in my fridge. It almost smells sightly burned though I turned my icemaker off wekks ago. Is this still possible that my ice would smell "burned" what would cause that???? seriously???
Wash out your freezer with a lil bit of bleach (NOT ALOT)very little, and then stick and opened box of Baking Soda in there. That should soak up all smells and whatnot.

Obviously, there´s some freon leakage in the icemaker part of the freezer. Hire a professional to fix it. Don´t use the damn ice. Freon can be poisonous in large quantities.

It's called multiple personality disorder. It stems from the horrific physical abuse he suffered as a child and the severe mental trauma of watching his father become a tranny.

There might be two of them but they are both stupid. Quote:
In 1928, Thomas Midgley, Jr. aided by Charles Franklin Kettering invented a "miracle compound" called Freon. Freon represents several different chlorofluorocarbons, or CFCs, which are used in commerce and industry. The CFCs are a group of aliphatic organic compounds containing the elements carbon and fluorine, and, in many cases, other halogens (especially chlorine) and hydrogen. Freons are colorless, odorless, nonflammable, noncorrosive gases or liquids.
Plus, if it was leaking coolant it wouldn't make ice now would it?

I'm afraid in this case Smartt is right. He still can't be a mod, however.

It's even worse if it's a new unit that doesn't use CFCs - the replacements are more prone to leaking and are toxic (there was a reason CFCs were preferred...)

Depends on the size of the leak. If it´s a small leak, it will make ice normally, but "infect" it as well.
And the freon used on freezers isn´t odorless at all. In fact, it smells like old cigar butts. Just buy a can and check it, instead of looking for stuff on the Internet.

Not to mention the copper used on freezers. Copper alone is mostly harmless, but when combined to a gas, it becomes toxic.
(BTW, "toxic" doesn´t mean "lethal". Not everything that´s toxic kills).

You're a fucking dumbass Smartt, and not worth arguing with. To tell this girl her ice smells burnt because her freezer is leaking "freon" is assinine.
I shouldn't expect any more from a third worlder who only sees ice in fancy restaurants and on American TV shows.

You don´t even know what you´re talking about, are you? You just want to offend me, right?
Well, you just fell on your face right now. Turns out that I´m 100% right, and the fridge-owner girl will attest to it as soon as she calls a pro to fix it.
And I´ll be laughing at you, just like I do every day.
