What follows is entirely a work of fiction.
I have written it to Ms. Lain herself, and I hope that someone shows it to her.
I do not know Ms. Lain, or her Son.
I do, however, know that these are words she needs to hear.
Again, this is simply a work of fiction.
It is intended to create change, and to shed light on an aspect of this situation that some may have neglected to emphasize.

A LOVE LETTER TO CHASEY LAIN, FROM HER SON...
(A fictional account)
Mom...
I don't know what to say. I'm angry, I'm alone, and I miss you. You keep running away from me, when all I want is for you to love me.
I'm your Son.
Mom, you're my favorite Action Superhero. I worship the ground you walk on. I don't want you to go away. I want to see you beat this. I want you to be strong for me.
I'm just a kid, Mom, and I have a hard time putting these thoughts into words.
I'm angry. I'm really, really, really angry.
I want to hurt myself. I want to hurt you. I want to hurt Dad. I want to crawl into a dark little hole, and disappear.
People are saying you're in denial.
I want to see you be honest. I want you to admit you have a problem. I want you to be tough, and I want you to fight this.
I want you to have the strength, for me, to go through weeks of withdrawal. I want you to sweat, vomit, scream and shake.
I don't want you to suffer, Mom...
I just want you to get better.
I need you to go through Hell for me. I need you around. I'm lost right now. I'm invisible. I want to die.
I love you, Mom. I'm your Son.
Remember all the times you told me to be strong? To be a 'big boy?'
I need you to be strong now.
There are people out here who care about you, Mom.
One of them is writing this letter, acting as my fictional attorney. He wants you to get better, too.
He wants you to get better because he knows you're my Mom.
He doesn't care what you've done, he only cares about what you'll do next.
He doesn't care if you're a porn star or a drug addict or a liar or a prostitute...
He knows you're better than this, and he knows that you can change.
Even though most of the people in this world don't believe in God, the guy writing this letter, speaking on my behalf, is convinced that God, and Angels, do exist.
He says that both God and the Angels brought you back...
...so you could be with me.
I forgive you, Mom.
I forgive you for all that awful, selfish shit you've pulled on me and Dad.
I forgive you, because I love you.
You're my Mom.
Everyone thinks you're going to flake.
Are you going to flake again?
I can't take much more, Mom.
I worship the ground you walk on. I listen to what you say. I believe in you.
All these people are wrong.
I know they are, because I'm your Son.
Be my Action Superhero again, Mom.
Show all these losers they were wrong about you.
Make me proud to say you're my Mom.
America wants to see you get through this.
I want to see you get through this.
I don't know what I'd do if I lost you, Mom.
I look up to you.
I love you, Mom.
I need you more than anything else on this planet.
I'm your Son.
Please stay here with me.
I don't ever want you to leave...
...again.
I love you more than I can ever put into words.
I'm damn proud that you're my Mom...
...and I'm your Son.
It's time to start over again, Mom.
Let's do it together.
Sincerely,
Your Son
